Hortaibérica’s red lettuce is a frisée-type variety, with medium-sized leaves and a very intense, shiny red colour. In addition to its mild flavour, slightly more pronounced than green lettuce, it stands out for its visual impact, making it ideal to add colour and contrast to salads and mixed leaf blends.
It adapts well to different direct-cropping cycles in the Estela, Póvoa de Varzim area, which allows us to plan production consistently throughout the year. We closely monitor plant development to ensure well-formed heads, frilly leaves with good texture and uniform colour. After harvesting, the red lettuce goes to the packing centre, where it is prepared according to the needs of the national and European markets.
